Blog EntryGroup Requests (UPDATED)Aug 29, '07 9:49 PM
by Luiz Felipe for everyone
Please read this in it's entirety!

Since there are so many new members, it's time to update and clarify requests so this group (and other help groups) can continue to run more efficiently.  This helps all members and admins when trying to assist others quickly, with as little delay as possible.

Please take the time to review the following:

1.  Title posts with the subject of your question (In Notes Only Please).  Please don't use the word "Help" or "Question" in your subject line.  Be short, but specific so those that can help, will, and as quickly for you as possible.

2.  Refrain from nuisance replies (added lol's, etc) that give no additional information. These only cause a thread to continue on and on, long after it's closed. This causes a lot of work for admins and members to have to keep looking at a thread with new, but useless replies.

3.  Refrain from continuing to answer a thread that has been asked and answered successfully, and the problem is fixed.  This means, you need to read all replies first, to realize this.  Once someone returns and replies that the problem is fixed, no further issues need to be addressed on that thread.  Also please note the date on posts.  Many that are being re-answerd are actually much older posts with no further replies needed.

4.  Always come back and reply if you posted a question.  Let us know that your question was answered successfully or if you still have a problem.  Open threads like that help no one.  It's a lot of work to pm each poster, thread by thread, to come back and give us an update.  All Q & A's are here to help everyone, and not just the original poster.  Thank you's are always appreciated by everyone.

5.  Refrain from argumentative or combative replies.  They are pointless, unnecessary and will only be deleted.  Be KIND in all posts and replies!

6.  PLEASE look for your answers before posting.  The blog section has tutorials and answers to questions that admins have addressed specifically.  The Notes section has most answers already there, so take the time to scroll through these sections.  Many current and regular questions are kept on the homepage for you to find at a glance.  There are many valuable posts in the Blog sections, so when you have time, please look through there for future reference!

7.  Make sure you are in the right group for your question.  Always post from the homepage of a group, and not by hitting POST from another page.  Groups clarify their purpose on the homepage, with posting instructions.   (For instance, this group is not for modification or customization questions.)

9.  Please post new questions as a new Thread in Notes.  Tacking on or hijacking a thread with a different topic only causes your question to be completely overlooked and go unanswered.  We find many of those here.  Be as clear as possible with your questions and your replies so we don't have to ask for clarification.

10.  If you read this post in it's entirety, you will realize, there is no number 8.
