Blog EntryDownloading VideosMar 31, '08 7:16 PM
by Luiz Felipe for everyone
It's another recurring question, so a few tips:

- To enable the download link for the videos you upload you have to activate Advanced Posting in your settings page:

- The post author (owner) should always see the download link, the same way it works with audio files in the Music section.

- If the file is in the FLV (Flash Video) or imported from YouTube.com or any other 3rd party service that uses the FLV file format there will be no download link regardless of the options/settings;

- Adult stuff is restricted to the (few) remaining adult groups (no one can create a new adult group anymore) and videos don't have a download link either;

- You can also use the EMBED code found in the share (look for the link just below the post, to the right) page to add the video anywhere you want without allowing users to download the original video, the same way you can embed videos from other sites.

Blog EntryProblems Uploading and How to Fix itMar 21, '07 4:03 PM
by Luiz Felipe for everyone
Some times your connection to Multiply drops for some reason while you are uploading new content (photos, videos, music). Before creating a new post, look at the respective section in your page and look for a Draft post with the files that were already uploaded. Simply edit the post, add the remaining content and publish it.

If you have problems uploading Music, try uploading them one at a time, to the same playlist, then publish it. Uploading smaller files (low bitrate) may also help.

If you have problems uploading Photos, try using another uploader tool. For instance, if you've used the Java tool, try using the HTML one next time.

You have some empty albums (with no pics and/or no name) and want to get rid of them? Simply upload a new photo, move it to the 'ghost' album and then delete it (it will be seen after a pic is added to it in your Photos page, maybe as a draft).

Last but not least, you can try using another browser. If you haven't tried yet, use Firefox: it works best with Multiply and is more secure overall.

Blog EntryVideo LimitsMar 17, '07 3:46 PM
by Linda for everyone
It is important to know and follow the rules regarding the upload "video" feature to insure you comply with the limits showing under the browse button.

When posting a video, you will notice at the upload screen the words "100 mgs / 10 minutes. Look at your video file size first. Make sure it's size is 100 mgs or less before you upload it. Most players for videos also give the length of time. To insure compliance and to further protect your Multiply, you may also wish to verify that the ones you currently have posted meet these requirements.

However, if your download link is missing from one or more of your videos, that does not mean that this feature was taken away from you. If you import a video from another site (youtube for instance) then you will not have a download link. Certain file formats, when uploaded don't give that option either. Sometimes after uploading, it takes a few minutes for the download link to appear. So don't rush it.

This is one more great feature of Multiply! Let's protect the privilege of having it!
